HPV Outreach and Education Campaign

The Consortium created and tested the best practice for educating and promoting the HPV vaccine to residents of Contra Costa and Solano Counties.

We created an HPV Advisory Group which consisted of clinic and county health education staff. The collaborative nature of this project was paramount in achieving this goal. With the expertise of a social marketing specialist, we were able to develop culturally sensitive, linguistically competent educational materials. After the materials were drafted, we focus group tested the materials with the use of community based discussion groups.

Feed back from the discussion groups was very rich and extremely helpful and enabled the creation of the educational materials. Young women and girls continue to be educated and vaccinated as a result of this successful campaign.
